hello friday + terrain

I am so glad that it’s finally Friday. Not too much has been going on here in Jengs world this past week, just doing what I do best (keeping busy) and of course hoping for better weather. This entire weekend will be cloudy, rainy and a bit chilly :(

On another note, here’s some Jengs Shop news that brightened up my day. It all started here: I’ve been an avid reader of Oh Joy! (written by Joy from Oh Joy! Studios & Nantaka Joy - paper & pattern) - I love her stuff! Anyways, when I found out that she was going to Pennsylvania to visit the new Terrain I got super excited. I was planning on going in 2 weeks to scope it out and to take some pictures. I was really really curious to see what it was going to be like.

You ask why? Well, way back when (I think around Thanksgiving time) a buyer from Terrain contacted me and was interested in wholesale. She had found me through Etsy :) When it all happened I couldn’t believe it, I didn’t want to believe it. I didn’t want to think anything of it, I guess I was shielding myself in case nothing would come out of it. When I was on vacation in February, they contacted me out of no where and placed an order. I was SOOOO very thrilled!! I walked around with a smile on my face for days, I really mean it! Days! :) It was so hard for me not to say a word of it here. My stuff was going to be a part of a new concept from Urban Outfitters Inc. Wow! I just couldn’t say anything until I saw it for myself and had actual proof that it was there. But since I still haven’t had time to go (still planning on it though) I was fortunate enough to find my goodies amongst Joy’s photos of Terrain. Take a look! Such wonderful things to see and everything so nicely situated! Here’s the one with my 3 notebooks (bottom left) :)

Thanks Joy for getting there before me and taking wonderful photos of the place :) Just makes me want to go even more!

Have a great weekend everyone!

happy saturday

It’s been a crazy week for me here and I’ll be working straight through the weekend up until Wed. Busy busy. Too bad it’s not for my own stuff but for my “other” job. It’s really ok, actually. I’ll be getting 20 hours of over time and more money is always good right?

In other news, I’ve been making a mobile of four doves for my really good friend whose going to be having a baby sometime the end of June. So here’s a little peek (it’s just at the beginning stages). I’ve never made plushies before and I’m just having fun with it. I hope it turns out really great, all the mom’s at the baby shower will be jealous. Anyways, I can’t show too much. She hasn’t seen it yet.

blogs galore

creature comforts

There are so many great blogs out there today that sometimes it’s hard to keep track of them all or even to decide which ones to read. Well thanks to Creature Comforts, a great blog on it’s own, has created an index of all their great blog finds. The design and style section is nicely organized, gallery style, in alphabetical order.

It is overwhelming the amount of blogs to read out there. I use google reader, it’s so easy to use. Every time I find one that I like I add it to my list. After a while the list gets so very long that I have to sort them out to the ones I really enjoy. It’s a cycle and I’m sure you all do the same.

Oh! I got tagged

I got tagged for the first time from a fellow etsyPaper member, Sara from piggy-tails. She makes all sorts of adorable paper goodies so head over to her Etsy shop and take a looksee.

I’m suppose to share 7 random/weird facts about myself so here goes:
1. I dislocated my right foot (6 years ago) when I was playing around with an ex-boyfriend. I was trying to do a silly jump kick and he moved, so with my bad spacial judgment (well judgment overall) I landed on the inside of my right foot. Fell to the floor and couldn’t get up. All is good now.
2. I love watching chick flicks and when there’s that moment of sadness I always cry, no fail. I don’t know why I get so sad sometimes, it’s just a movie.
3. I’ve always hated jello & pudding. I just can’t stand the texture, the feeling of mushiness, in my mouth .
4. I buy hobos and tote bags like crazy, fabric and leather ones. They’re always black or some neutral color. I bought my first bright colored one a couple of weeks ago. Red.
5. I grind my teeth when I sleep and it makes a really high pitched screeching sound.
6. I use to bite my nails all the time when I was little until I got braces. I had to stop because when I did have braces there was a time when my front teeth would hurt when I bit down.
7. That also lead me to not shew gum. Yeah, I never chew gum.

Now I’m suppose to tag 7 other bloggers (sorry guys):
La Paperie
morelle
Heidi Burton
Ali J
Stephen Key
Cat Lauigan

new blog: pikaland

There’s a brand new blog in town and it’s called Pikaland. It’s all run by Amy Ng (of remakeables) and her great illustrated finds. She’s already got some wonderful choices, some familiar artists along with some unfamiliar ones waiting to be discovered.

I can’t wait to see what else Amy uncovers from out there in the great land of art and illustration. Go on over and see for yourself.
