finds: kristen swanson

It’s almost like I’m crazy about peonies these past few days. I promise this is the last of the peonies. The two gorgeous porcelain pottery pieces are from Kristen Swanson. Aren’t they awesome. The black and white make them so classy and sleek. Kristen sells her work here and also has a blog here if you want to learn more about her and her work.

finds: Nick Neuland

Friday, May 2, 2008 No Comments

The website I mentioned in my last post is finally up. Please take a look at my friend’s work, Nick Neuland’s website. There you will see a simple site that I designed for him to showcase his work. He will be graduating with his Master’s from the NY Academy of Art. They’re actually having a MFA Diploma Exhibition opening on 5/16 from 7-9pm through 5/30. If you’re in the NY area swing by, there will be some amazing pieces. Here are my two favorites from Nick’s website collection.

affordable web hosting

Thursday, April 17, 2008 No Comments

Having a website seems to be so important now a days and almost everyone I know has one. So if you don’t know where to start, take a look at this site (I use it myself and for the websites that I create), Netfirms. I did a lot of research back in the days looking for cheap places to create a domain and to host a website.

They were and still are the cheapest I’ve ever found. If you know of any others please share them in the comments. I’d love to know and I’m sure there are many others who would too. And you know what? Even they’ve gone green. You can click here to read more about that. Everyone and everything has gone green :) I guess whether it’s just a trend or simple awareness, it doesn’t matter because in the end it’s just a good thing.

finds: Julia Pott

I’ve never put a YouTube video on here but here’s an animation I found via the Storque on Etsy called “My first crush”. It’s so very very good. I love her illustrations and the little stories behind them just melted my heart. You have to check it out for yourself. It was created by Julia Pott, an illustrator/animator in London. She’s also got some cool zines and prints in her shop.

aaw…remember your first crush?

finds: tea pots + mugs

Saturday, April 5, 2008 No Comments

These beautiful tea pots and mugs were all found on the wonderful site of all things handmade, Etsy. You can see in my previous post that I use boring white mugs. Boring! That’s right. I’m going to have to spice things up a bit soon. I love large mugs, they fit in your hands so perfectly and you get so much at one time.

creature comforts

There are so many great blogs out there today that sometimes it’s hard to keep track of them all or even to decide which ones to read. Well thanks to Creature Comforts, a great blog on it’s own, has created an index of all their great blog finds. The design and style section is nicely organized, gallery style, in alphabetical order.

It is overwhelming the amount of blogs to read out there. I use google reader, it’s so easy to use. Every time I find one that I like I add it to my list. After a while the list gets so very long that I have to sort them out to the ones I really enjoy. It’s a cycle and I’m sure you all do the same.

finds: bag bag bags

Monday, March 24, 2008 No Comments

I’ve drifted away from my so called Monday finds. Since my daily life has left me so unreliable I can’t hold myself to doing a post specifically on Mondays. I don’t know when I’ll be posting my finds but hopefully I’ll be posting them more often (since I won’t be constricting myself to just that one specific day). I hope you will enjoy my finds.

I’m seriously a crazy bag lady. I’ve so many bags that I sometimes don’t really know what to do with them and yet I’m still always on the look out for some new ones. Silly me, I know I’m not the only one out there. So here’s a few I found perusing the wonderful site for all things handmade, Etsy.

Here’s the second one :)

esdesigns

I’m a simple gal who rarely wears jewelry so when I came across these lovelies, by Elizabeth Scott aka esdesigns, I fell in love. Her work is so beautiful and yet simple, which is perfect for me. It’s amazing how some can make metal seem so so delicate. You can see all Elizabeth’s wonderful creations in here etsy shop along with her blog.
