It’s been all rainy and gray here today. What do you do on rainy days?
When I was little, during the rain storms, I use to lock myself in my room and jump under the covers because I was so frightened by the dark clouds and the sounds of thunder. It’s a good thing I’m a grown up now and don’t need to hide under the covers, but sshhh … I still do that while watching scary movies … don’t tell.
I hope it’ll turn out to be nice this weekend. MF and I are going to look at a few apartments this Sunday. Keep your fingers crossed. Have a great weekend!

I’ll be adding some new goodies to the shop tomorrow. These two below along with the lino print ones I’ve mentioned earlier.

I’m participating in another virtual market over at Poppytalk Handmade. This time around it’s all about paper. So check out all the great things there and come by my table.

I’m doing some spring cleaning and marking a few items at 50% off. You can check them out here.

There’s so much more cleaning and organizing to do. Along with that I’m trying to realize the next steps to take within my life and along with that Jengs Shop.
Have a great weekend!

My whole day was spent indoors because of the rain and all I did was work, Jengs Shop work. It felt like ages since I last had time. Anyways I worked on a new linoleum print. First time for simple literals and not just pretty visuals. I guess a little out of my norm but it’s different and bold and I love hand printing. You can never reproduce the line and ink quality a lino print creates. Each one, a little different and unique.

Keep your eye out for these bad boys! I hope to have them in the shop some time next week.

It’s almost like I’m crazy about peonies these past few days. I promise this is the last of the peonies. The two gorgeous porcelain pottery pieces are from Kristen Swanson. Aren’t they awesome. The black and white make them so classy and sleek. Kristen sells her work here and also has a blog here if you want to learn more about her and her work.

Hello. I took this particular photo over the weekend. Peonies are so pretty, especially in full bloom.

Last week I had a wholesale inquiry and they asked about the recycled content in my paper products. Shamefully, I never really thought anything of it. I mean, I recycle my own waste/goods at home but I never thought to only sell products made of recycled materials. What the hell was I thinking? All I do is produce paper goods! Well, I had no numbers to throw out to answer their question, so I had to research what I’ve been using. I searched online (where I buy some of my materials) and looked at every packaging I had. For the most part, I was very very pleased to know that most of my materials are recycled, either contains 30% post-consumer content, 100% recycled or contained both. I guess, luckily, it was all subconsciously done. I wish I was more aware of it back then, for myself and as a designer of paper goods. Unfortunately, there was one item of mine that wasn’t recycled in any way, my white envelopes, after I use up all that I have I don’t think I’ll be buying those anymore.
I hope that those who work a lot with paper will keep this in consideration the next time paper materials need to be purchased. I definitely will! So here’s to a more conscious greener me. Have a wonderful week! I’ll have a couple of finds later on in the week.

I am so glad that it’s finally Friday. Not too much has been going on here in Jengs world this past week, just doing what I do best (keeping busy) and of course hoping for better weather. This entire weekend will be cloudy, rainy and a bit chilly :(
On another note, here’s some Jengs Shop news that brightened up my day. It all started here: I’ve been an avid reader of Oh Joy! (written by Joy from Oh Joy! Studios & Nantaka Joy – paper & pattern) – I love her stuff! Anyways, when I found out that she was going to Pennsylvania to visit the new Terrain I got super excited. I was planning on going in 2 weeks to scope it out and to take some pictures. I was really really curious to see what it was going to be like.
You ask why? Well, way back when (I think around Thanksgiving time) a buyer from Terrain contacted me and was interested in wholesale. She had found me through Etsy :) When it all happened I couldn’t believe it, I didn’t want to believe it. I didn’t want to think anything of it, I guess I was shielding myself in case nothing would come out of it. When I was on vacation in February, they contacted me out of no where and placed an order. I was SOOOO very thrilled!! I walked around with a smile on my face for days, I really mean it! Days! :) It was so hard for me not to say a word of it here. My stuff was going to be a part of a new concept from Urban Outfitters Inc. Wow! I just couldn’t say anything until I saw it for myself and had actual proof that it was there. But since I still haven’t had time to go (still planning on it though) I was fortunate enough to find my goodies amongst Joy’s photos of Terrain. Take a look! Such wonderful things to see and everything so nicely situated! Here’s the one with my 3 notebooks (bottom left) :)

Thanks Joy for getting there before me and taking wonderful photos of the place :) Just makes me want to go even more!
Have a great weekend everyone!
