finally some snow

Tuesday, December 23, 2008 No Comments

It’s about time. We finally got snow here in good old New York. It wasn’t as much as I hoped for but enough to leave you wanting more.

We finally got a little Christmas tree and it’s really cute especially with the little ornaments we made just out of copper wire. They’re really simple and I only spent no more than $3 on the wire.

Central Park

Last weekend on an extremely cold cold but sunny Saturday, B and I went to Central Park for a little walk. It was fun but way too cold. We were able to get some nice shots in. I got this really cool one of the amazing trees in Central Park casting it’s shadows.

Here’s an abstract one full of color, a great inspirational piece for patterns.

hello again

Seems like I’ve been away for so long. I hope everyone has been well and getting ready for the holidays. I was just cleaning out my computer and going through all my photos and I found this shot amongst my phone photos. It’s not crystal clear but maybe that’s why I like it so much and for the fact that it reminds me of that warm summer weather that we so soon forgot.

Two new items are in the shop. The cute little bird image is from a photograph I took over the summer on the road. It’s available as a blank notebook and a matching card set.

little thing magazine

I know I’ve been away for quite some time now. Sorry! I’ve been really busy with all that life stuff, work and work and having fun with the ones I love.

Well, I’m just stepping away from that regular life stuff to just mention that I was asked way back in July to have my stuff shown in Little Thing Magazine (my very first printed feature!!). It’s an independent fashion magazine that targets creative Chinese females and is circulated in 5 big cities (Hongkong, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen). It focuses on illustration, fashion, and creative design. They also promote recycling, redesign, and handcraft. There theme is “we collect beautiful things,” which I think is pretty cool because it’s something we all do. My stuff is in the section called Little paper magic, which introduces interesting paper related brands and artists.

I finally did it

Tuesday, August 12, 2008 3 Comments

What you see there is my very first silk screen test. I actually gave it a go over the weekend and it wasn’t that bad. I used Speedball‘s Photo Emulsion kit and I just followed the instructions. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be, especially since I’m only doing one color prints. I so guessed on the timing of the exposure. I gave it 30 minutes under a 65 watt flood light (I couldn’t find a 125 watt flood light (as the instructions suggests) anywhere. So I just had to make do with what I had. One thing, next time I’ll probably expose a tad bid longer when I have a fine line drawing. The actual printing can get a little messy.

Oh this is so cool, the possibilities are endless.

just some photos

Monday, August 11, 2008 No Comments

I was sorting and organizing my digital photos and found these. Remember I mentioned I was helping with setting up a new store for the company I work for? Well, they should be having their grand opening by the end of this month. There are a few people I work with that formed a band just to play at this opening so hopefully video footage will be available to show after. It should be real good. Anyways, here are a few photos. You can see the amount of boxes and stuff loaded into the space. It was crazy and it took away three weeks of my life :)

And yet again, another one of my many shoe shots.

Here’s a sneak peek at something new for the shop. Just a few new goodies will be added this time around, it’ll be early this week. I still a few more up my sleeve that I’m trying to work out. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.
