So it’s almost time. Tonight at 12:00am my poppytalk handmade gallery will be live. I can’t wait to see the other artists in the December market along with me.
Here are some shots of my new mini notebooks, I hope to have them in the shop by tonight. They’re really cute, about half the size of my other blank notebooks.

I’m off to the city to buy more sketch paper for my notebooks. I can’t believe I finished my two reams already. I am so happy :) that people out there like what I create, because it’s always a little scary, you just never know.

Finishing up some orders today and preparing more goodies for another mini shop update. I’m sticking with the classic black and white this time and I’ll be putting out new blank notebooks, and this time they’ll be mini. So keep your eye’s out for some new blank mini notebooks. I’m aiming for Sunday night.
I took a few shots while in production.

Back to work.

It’s been a crazy week here at Jengs Shop and again, I’ve neglected my blog. I’ve been busy with production and shipping. With Jengs Shop being my “night & weekend job,” it gets a little overwhelming during the week. But to tell you the truth, I truly don’t mind. This is what I want to do, and I’m loving every minute of it.
There are a few blog thanks to be given for mentioning my goodies: handmade supreme, of paper & thread, zzilch, Cute Indie Finds and katelynjane’s notebook. And I’ll be on Poppytalk Handmade starting this weekend, so check it out.
I can’t believe that it’s winter already, I’m just waiting for that huge snow storm, so I can listen to the wonderful stillness and drink hot chocolate…time is just flying and there’s still loads of stuff to do. I still haven’t sent out our Christmas cards to the family. I better get going. Here’s a little peek at my new card design. It’s cute. Black and white, baby. That’s where this design round is headed. Stay tuned for another shop update, probably this weekend or so. Still waiting for some better natural lighting.

I finally finished up my new website, jengsshop.com. It’s sort of like a welcome page, with links to my shop and blog.

Oh and I almost forgot. I’ll be in the December Market at Poppytalk Handmade. Here’s a link to my table. It’ll be up from December 10th – January 4th. It’ll be great. I’ll be amongst some really great artists and it’s a good way to get some exposure. So look for me there!!

Hi. I guess it’s been a while, been neglecting the poor blog here. It’s been Super crazy. As you can see, I had to move my blog because it seriously just didn’t make sense being my opener (the first thing you see when you come to my webpage).
Well does any one read this…sometimes I really wonder. Hello? Is somebody there?
Anyway, I’ll continue along, I am in the process of creating a new homepage to showcase my products and maybe with a little shop, I’m not sure about that yet, I like my stuff being on etsy. A catalog is in the works, I’ve been busy with that. Oh and I’ll have some really cute cactus cards coming this way. I think I want to go black and white for a little while and see the fun things I can come up with. Who doesn’t like that color combo.

I’ve said earlier that I was planning on silk screening my holiday cards but after the little fiasco yesterday I took my idea and moved on. I created two simple designs. I don’t know which one I want to mail out for my family and friends, I like them both. Maybe I’ll mix it up a bit.
So, one’s got the traditional “red” and the other is more wintery “blue”. I had a lot of fun with the blue one. I actually cut out snowflakes (like when we were kids with the folded paper and scissors). I had the same feelings while I was cutting away, the anticipation of how it was going to turn out. Then, after the fun, I scanned them in and then digitally enhanced them.

They will also be available in my shop. Here’s a little peek:

Sometimes we just have to accept the things that we are incapable of.
Well, in this instance, I have come to the conclusion that as of right now I can NOT silk screen. I mean I tried and I tried and it just didn’t look as good as I want it to. I guess I just want it to be perfect. It’s sad :( I really really wanted to try to move into that direction but it’s just not going to happen. Maybe one day when I have the space, I will venture into this again.

Just in time for winter, I’ve added some newly designed blank notebooks (very very white, simple and just plain pretty) yesterday and I’ll be adding a few today. You can check them out in my shop.
I also just want to thank Jan from Poppytalk and Poppytalk Handmade for mentioning my green bamboo notebook in her handmade holiday gift guide. Oh and speaking of Poppytalk Handmade, I will be amongst great great talent in her December Market. (I’ll give more info on that later) Jan and her husband Earl has created an online market where selected artists, from all over the world, can showcase their best 10 pieces. It’ll be great exposure and I can’t wait. I think (I hope, fingers are crossed XX :P) it’ll be just a wonderful opportunity for JengsShop.

I will be doing a little updating in my shop today. You will find some newly designed blank notebooks. I hope to be adding more this coming weekend also. Here’s a little peek.

Like I said a few posts ago, that I was trying to learn how to silkscreen, I finally got all of my materials in order and I’m about ready to go. Before venturing into the photo emulsion process I figured the best way to start was to begin with the drawing fluid and screen filler process.

I guess I’ll try to take some photos as I go but it may be too hard. I’ve never done this before so we’ll see :) it might just be a real mess.
